Parents, you’ve got questions, we’ve got answers.

Or just as likely, we’ve got questions and you’ve got answers.

The Calm During the Storm

We all know those days. The days that start early, say 5:30 a.m., and end late enough that we are practically crawling to bed ourselves.

Through all those days (and nights) my husband has never once complained. Honestly, it's almost superhuman, his ability to stay calm and patient even during our most trying parenting moments. He is one of those rare individuals who seems to constantly remember how fortunate he is to be a father of two small children.

I have always considered myself a quick response/impulsive kind of girl. My husband, on the other hand, has always been more of the wait-and-see/thoughtful kind of guy. Both qualities have their blessings and curses, sure. However, if parenting were a contest, he would win-- every time-- because of his ability to remain calm and unfazed, even by the most ear-splitting tantrum or depressingly early waking time.

I have always been attracted to my husband's calm, rational temperament, even before we had children. He was a valued voice of reason when I stressed about school, work, life. Literally, he was a consistent, steady shoulder to lean on. Now, with young children constantly at our heels, with their own needs and demands, his calming presence has been even more appreciated.

I couldn't have survived the last five years of parenthood without him. He is irreplaceable.
