I got married last night!

Ok, no I didn’t. But I pretended to.

Why? Because my 4 year old got on one knee and asked me “mama will you marry me?”
*I later learned he saw this on the Grinch

Nonetheless, I laughed it off and said of course I will buddy, and continued about my business not thinking anything of it.

About 20 minutes later he showed up beside me outside wearing a collared shirt and jeans. He went into his room, picked out the clothes and changed himself without anyone knowing.

Cutest thing I’ve ever seen.
He was serious.

Then he grabbed my hand and led me inside where he had ripped one of my dresses out of my closet and crumpled it on my bed.
“Purple is your favorite color mommy”

Ohhhmygoodness.
Wet hair, no makeup and all. I put on that dress.

He had laid out 2 slices of pizza and water bottles on the counter.
“This is our wedding foods and drinks mommy”

We ate and played legos.
And he kissed my cheek and smiled as big as I’ve ever seen him smile.

So. Yes. I got married last night.
To a little boy who has my heart and will for the rest of my life.

It’s a pandemic people.
When your preschooler asks you to get married, you do it.

Life is short.
Do the things that make you smile.
