I was able to get some party supplies from Minted, so I went with a dinosaur theme. The colors, blue and green, were fun and I knew I could find a lot of things in this theme. Easy!Dinosaur Birthday Decor

We had both cake and dinosaur cupcakes. The cake went FAST! I had a few pictures in Ikea frames around with snaps of Cannon from the past year. The Happy Birthday banner was also from Minted.

The Dinosaur book ended up being one of my favorite things from the party. I passed around Sharpies and everyone who came signed the book.

We also had a book as a guestbook at our baby shower, so I think this will become a yearly tradition. Bonus points if I can continue to find children's books that match the party theme.

Oh, yea, and there was a photobooth.

But, we got it hung with duct tape and love. We used a tripod and some dinosaur friends.
Planning a first birthday party can be stressful. I felt like I didn't have enough time to really execute it. Minted has a ton of party supplies if you are looking to use one of their themes. I loved the personalized table banner! Most of the items I bought from Minted required some assembly (for example, I had pinwheels and the banner), which wasn't awesome since I was already pressed for time. Luckily, I completed the party decor with the help of family and friends just as the party started. In fact, I think I was late to my son's own party. Oh well. Maybe next year...
