My son, Daniel, was born at 26 weeks by C-section. He was 741 grams (1 lbs. 10 oz.) and 13 inches. Daniel spent two and a half months in the NICU. During that time he had transfusions, and surgery to his esophagus to help with reflux. Through it all, there was his nurse Trisha. Without her, Daniel would have spent even more time in the unit, and I probably would have been more of a wreck. Dressing him to come home was a problem, since even Cabbage Patch clothes were too big for him. Now, at 22 years old, he is healthy and a little over weight. God bless Trisha and the rest of the NICU team at Monmouth Medical in Long Branch, NJ.
