Parents, you’ve got questions, we’ve got answers.

Or just as likely, we’ve got questions and you’ve got answers.

I have a friend who thinks I'm organized when, really, I'm anything but.

I have a friend who I think is killin' it at work when, really, work is killin' her spirit.

I have a friend who thinks I'm a successful writer when, really, the only thing I've been successful at as a writer is not making money as one.

I have a friend that looks good all. the. time.when, really, she doesn't feel good all.the.time.
I have a friend who thinks I look good all the time. She must be on crack.

I have a friend who I put on a pedestal. She looks great up there.

I have a friend who puts me on a pedestal. I'm unworthy, so I jump off it every damn time.

I have a friend I go to for advice, but I never take it.

I have a friend who comes to me for advice, and I'm like, " Whyyy?! I know nothing about nothing."

I have a friend who listens really well, but she often is not heard.

I am a friend who sucks at listening to her friends sometimes.

I have a friend who is a genuine gal's gal, and she makes it look effortless.

I am a gal who is regularly intimidated by other gals, so being around a bunch of 'em takes all my -effin effort not to run the hell away.

I have a friend who is an extrovert. I wanna be like her.

I have a friend who thinks this introvert is an extrovert. I've fooled her.

I have a friend who worries she doesn't fit in.

I am the friend who worries she doesn't fit in.

But that's the thing about having true "friends"...

you don't have to fit in.

Not into a box.

Not into a circle.

Not into anything - at all.

When you have true friends, you just get to be.

You get to be awkward AF.

You get to be perplexing and imperfect.

You get to have bad days and

YOU.
DON'T.
HAVE.
TO.
FEEL.
BAD.
ABOUT.
IT.

And your friend would never dare make you.

What a true friend will dare you to do,

is LOVE YOURSELF.

ACCEPT YOURSELF.

LAUGH AT YOURSELF.

AND GIVE GRACE TO YOURSELF.

And they'll do the same for you.

I have a friend who's easy to be around.

In fact, I have a handful, who are never a handful, but who wholeheartedly appreciate and enjoy the handful that I, without a doubt, am.

I have friends, and I am a friend, and friendship, WHEN IT'S EASY, it's really freakin' rewarding.
