Parents, you’ve got questions, we’ve got answers.

Or just as likely, we’ve got questions and you’ve got answers.

When we yell,

we crack their shell,

an armor that they need.

For a spirit intact,

it's necessity a fact,

to grow their belief in self.

When kids need love,

we are not above,

giving it anytime it’s sought.

Not with a sigh,

with gratitude, we must lie,

knowing how blessed we are.

To raise a life,

through good and strife,

and make it to the other side together.

So parent them kind,

let compassion bind,

and don't be so reactive.

For when we explode,

we add to their load,

instead of making it lighter.

Stay calm and think through,

how you want them to see you,

as an ally by their side.

Because it isn't right,

to ever approach with a fight,

when understanding is a better choice.

For kids will model,

you at full throttle,

and that's not what you want to teach.

So keep it together,

light as a feather,

and keep the love between you and yours.

Then they will know most sure,

the role you are for,

is to guide, support, & love them forever.
