Parents, you’ve got questions, we’ve got answers.

Or just as likely, we’ve got questions and you’ve got answers.

In 45 days, I will have lived five decades on this planet. When you reach this age, you begin thinking about what’s left of your life. I know it sounds crazy, but it’s true. You spend time reflecting on how you got to where you are, right at this moment, and wonder where you’re going next.

I’ve enjoyed the ride so far, it’s been bumpy, there have been times I have been flipped around a few different ways, but I know, that I would not be where I am now, without all the experiences I’ve had.

This photo is my 32- year- old self. Starting my journey as a wife and a mom. Now, my daughter is 22, and if I could share with her, what I'd tell my younger self....

This is what I'd say......

Trust your gut.

Write down your passwords.

You can leave the party whenever YOU want.

No one notices that pimple on your chin.

You need to own at least three black dresses

Dance when everyone is watching....they watch and they smile, and then they dance.....(proven...at least with my experience)

Life is good, not always, but most of the time, and remember the sun rises every day

Get over your fear of public speaking

Work hard in school, but don’t sweat the small stuff.

Keep moving

Walk in the rain (but a pair of rain boots)

Embrace your imperfections

Surround yourself with a few good friends, you don’t need a possé

Read more books

Go to church (or temple, or wherever your worship)

Keep learning

Travel as much as you can.

You’ll run out of money, before you run out of places to go

Have a forgiving heart, always

Be intimate with your husband, partner (it’s important)

Be bold about your opinions

Stay tech savvy (don’t run away from it)

Say “I love you”, often

Always have a comfortable pair of jeans in your closet

Don’t be afraid to fail

Take advantage of every opportunity

Don’t settle

Treat yourself as a guest of honor, always

Don’t worry so much

Engage in conversations around the table

Laugh often

Don’t over pluck your eyebrows (my mom was right)

Treat yourself to facials Get sized for your bras (thank you Oprah)

What would you tell your younger self?
