If you’re a stay at home mom, or currently on mat leave, you may be feeling the family finances are best left in the “ignorance is bliss” category of life. Maybe you’re an excellent budgeter and have all the family finances calculated down to a tee but the baby and mommy budget jars can only stretch so far.

Luckily, the rise of deal sites has made it easier than ever to score a great deal on all the stuff you need, want and never knew you had to have! These are all of my favorite deal sites that I have personally ordered from at one time or another:

Baby Deal Sites: My top 3!

  1. Babysteals/Kidsteals - The first deal site of its kind! All of the others are copycats. Because they’ve been around the longest they have the best brands and a longstanding relationships with vendors. They also have an excellent facebook page with crazed babysteals fans that will fill you in on all the reasons why a product is or is not worth your $. This is my personal favourite site and the place where I have “stolen” many of the products featured in the blog. Be fast though, deals are posted at 8am and 8pm daily and they can sell out within 30 min if the item is in high demand! Based out of Utah. http://babysteals.stealnetwork.com/, http://kidsteals.stealnetwork.com/, http://scrapbooksteals.stealnetwork.com/
  2. Baby Half Off –Deal posted daily at 8am. American site. http://babyhalfoff.com/
  3. Mommy Deals – The lady that runs it is wonderful! And best of all FREE SHIPPING anywhere in Canada! I’ve gotten my orders within 5 days before! Usually posted around 9am daily.

Other great baby deals sites worth mentioning:

True Cuddles: Deals posted weekly. http://www.truecuddles.ca/

PS I Adore You daily! https://www.psiadoreyou.com/

These sites work on the premise that buying discontinued or outlet items in bulk from companies means big savings for you! (Usually 40-90% off!)

Word to the Wise: Watch the shipping! – sometimes the companies will up the shipping to make more profit. While the advertised price may be 50% off, with shipping sometimes it only actually saves you 10-20%. Still a great deal if you ask me but something to keep in mind. Also some of these sites are out of the states so it can take 4-6 weeks to be delivered so make sure to order well in advance of when you need it! It sometimes gets caught up in customs and so it takes longer. The odd time you may also get dinged with duty for larger ticket items. (Though personally I have ordered from these sites for over a year and have never had to pay duty even on orders up to $100.)

Great Deals for the Whole Family!

These deals work on the same premise as the baby deal sites above but they have multiple deals lasting usually lasting 2-3 days each. You also have to sign up for an account with them to view deals but it’s definitely worth it!

  1. Beyond the Rack – Canadian site http://www.beyondtherack.com/event/calendar
  2. Haute Look – American site http://www.hautelook.com/
  3. Gilt Groupe – American site http://www.gilt.com/sale/women?orid=

Date Night Deals

These deals are usually limited to a week and a limited number of customers. Each deal needs usually a minimum of 5 buyers to be valid and are offered to new customers only as an incentive to try them out. Deals range from restaurants to holidays to hot air balloon rides. Great for some getaway time with your family!

  1. Groupon – The original deal site of its kind and in my opinion the most reliable. http://www.groupon.com/subscriptions/new?division_p=calgary
  2. Living Social - http://www.livingsocial.com/cities/67-calgary
  3. WagJag - http://www.wagjag.com/?_page=home&city=4

I realize there are lots more but buyer beware I have heard many complaints of the sites not following the vendor’s requested limits and as a result have not honoured the coupons bought. The ones above I have used and not had a problem with.

Hope some of these are new to you and help you grab some great deals around town! Just be aware that they are a bit addictive. My husband has cut me off more than once for buying into too many deals at once! Lol But hey, I NEEDED it right?
