According to a recent poll, 69% of potential new moms were interested in going green. It's not as complicated as you might think.

Do you fall into that category? You're interested in becoming more eco-friendly, but don't know where to start.

The natural moms' movement has created many tricks and hacks anyone can try.

A few simple tricks can help you adopt more natural and eco-friendly habits. Check out these tips from natural moms and start making changes.

Homemade Baby Food

As a new mom, you're probably worried about the food you'll be feeding your baby.

You're worried commercially prepared baby foods have added sugar, sodium, and fewer nutrients. What about all those ingredients on the label? Do you know what they are?

Not to mention the commercially made baby food is also more expensive. You might be creating more landfill with the disposable containers.

The greener and safer choices are to make your own baby food. This way you will know exactly what foods go into your baby's body.

Tip: After making your own baby food, try freezing it in ice cube trays and then storing it in those perfectly portioned cubes for use later!

Reusable Wipes

Disposable baby wipes aren't always the greenest option. They create excess waste and the chemicals could irritate your baby's skin.

You can make your own reusable baby wipes. All you need is a container to dispense the towels and some baby wash clothes. To make the solution you only need some water, baby soap, and a few essential oils.

Diaper Service

This is a controversial subject, and even natural moms have mixed feelings about their baby's diapers. Not only do diapers house a funky smell but, they aren't the greenest of products.

Diapers take about 500 years to decompose. Your little one could be leaving a harmful print for the environment.

By far the greenest option would be cloth diapers. However, those smelly diapers can make anyone cringe, and not many moms love the idea of having to wash them.

Fear not, diaper services are available. They will pick up, clean, and deliver those reusable diapers back to your door.

Reusable Food Pouches

To-go food pouches come in handy and all moms know that. Parents love the portability and convenience. Not only do they take little space, but leave very few messes.

Since you don't need a spoon to feed your child, it speeds up the process. Natural moms know to use disposable food containers.

You can now buy reusable food pouches at many retailers including online stores.

Recycled Clothes

All babies grow up too fast, which means they will outgrow their clothes every couple months.

The most eco-friendly way to buy new clothes is to get recycled clothes. If you or your friends shop at thrift stores or garage sales, you're getting recycled clothes. Passing out-grown baby clothes between friends is another form of recycling.

Since children use the clothes for very little time, you can find them in very good condition. Not to mention recycled clothes are budget friendly.

Bonus: Remember, your clothing donations to the Salvation Army are a tax deduction, too!

Homemade All-Purpose Cleaner

Think to make your own all-purpose cleaner is complicated?

A homemade cleaner is eco-friendly and you don't have to worry about the chemicals being harmful to your pets. All you need is a spray bottle, water, vinegar, and some essential oils.

After you go green in one aspect, the next step could be making your house more eco-friendly. Check out these home solar panels, it will give you an idea on how to get started.

Going on a Diet? Choose a Natural Weight Loss Option

Another area where we don't do a lot of thinking about our footprint is our diet. In fact, about 45 million Americans go on a diet every year, and some of them are less than eco-friendly. Consider popular diets like Nutrisystem that deliver pre-packaged food every month, and leave behind a pile of plastic and cardboard.

This is one of the common complaints that customers have about these diets, and it's easily avoidable. Skip the pre-packaged, high-sodium foods, and go with a low calorie, natural (mostly vegetarian!) diet on your own and you'll save a bundle in the process!
