My Pregnancy Sleep Routine

I’m 27 weeks pregnant and have only had a few restless nights. I was always a back/ stomach sleeper. Making the change to my side was a tough transition. I was also stubborn and refused to use a body pillow, now it’s a necessity!

Overall, I’ve been lucky. I stick to a pretty strict sleep routine, which I think really helps! Here are my nightly must do’s:

Warm shower

Lavender scented body oil (I use one that also doubles as a way to prevent stretch marks- and yes its working!)

Phone on ‘Do not disturb’ and I don’t touch or look at it

Sleeping mask- I need it really dark

I take a yoga class at night once a week. Those nights, I sleep like a baby!

Occasionally, I get those rough nights where it seems like nothing works. The one thing that was recommended to me that didn’t work was Chamomile Tea. It just doubled my nightly trips to the bathroom.

I’m almost in my third trimester and hope that this sleep routine continues to work!
