Parents, you’ve got questions, we’ve got answers.

Or just as likely, we’ve got questions and you’ve got answers.

Moms are still not okay

When a mom friend texts me, "how are you?"

I want to laugh because we all know the answer:

Mom's are not okay. We’re ALL not.

And it’s so disappointing.

This wasn’t supposed to happen. This was all supposed to be behind us.

But here we are, and our kids are now the most vulnerable because they’re the ones who aren’t vaccinated.

And every mom’s feeling it:

the stress,

the anger,

and the "how am I going to do this, again?"

How will I balance a job and virtual learning if it comes to that and caring for younger siblings?

Summer was a sneak peek, and I didn't like it.

After homeschooling my kids last year, I sent my eldest to camp, and our house didn’t feel safe anymore. We were sick nonstop with coughs, runny noses, and stomach bugs. We had countless covid tests—countless--, and we’d sigh with relief when it was negative, only to have to get another one five days later.

And now my eldest’s going to start kindergarten in two weeks, and I'm not excited. I'm nervous for many more reasons than she’s starting a new school.

There’s just so much on our plates.

And a lot of us had dreams of our own. Things we wanted to do, and now we have to worry about the financial impact of the virus, our kids' possible quarantine, and so many other things that will put our dreams last, yet again.

A mom friend said to me: “I feel like the world’s falling apart.”

And it does feel like that. And to have little humans that you care about more than yourself in this scary world is extra insomnia-inducing

And it's all moms can talk about right now because it's at the forefront of our minds and hearts.

So, no, we aren't okay. How can we be?

So I’m giving us permission to come together right now and scream: AHHHHHHHHHH.

We all deserve that,

at least.
