Parents, you’ve got questions, we’ve got answers.

Or just as likely, we’ve got questions and you’ve got answers.

Sometimes we need Jesus.

And, sometimes, He needs us.

On any given typical day and sure as heck on pandemic-plagued one, we don't know how

the day,

every hour,

our mood,

the attitudes of those we love,

the news,

work,

or everyday challenges will hit us.

But, hit us, they most definitely will.

That's inevitable.

Like a giant effing wrecking ball minus Miley Cyrus.

As a mama whose heart feels very heavy these days worried sick about

my kids,

spouse,

parent,

in-laws,

grandparents,

extended family,

friends,

my kid's teachers and administrators,

or strangers getting sick,

I find myself both questioning and pleading with God in one breath, and affirming my faith in him and thanking him in the next.

I find myself asking crying "WHY?" and then pulling up my big girl britches and moving forward with confidence that there is a rhyme and reason and a giant lesson in all of this for each of us as the days unfold.

Some days I'm

super positive,

grateful,

full of patience,

and overflowing with faith.

Other days I'm

negative Nancy,

dissatisfied,

thankless,

ill at ease,

and itching for a seemingly unrealistic miracle.

Then I remind myself that my kids, my husband and all of my loved ones are still here and healthy, and THAT is a miracle --

one I'm blessed to be living.

So, the fact is just that —

that sometimes you need Him,

and other times, He needs you.

For through you, things like

love,

kindness,

compassion,

empathy,

honesty,

positivity,

trust,

and commitment

can be observed and learned.

Sometimes we need Jesus to be ALL we know Him to be.

And, sometimes, He needs us to be ALL He knows us to be.
