One of the most challenging aspects of raising a child with special needs is finding a supportive community. I first learned about Special Needs Network while searching for events for families with special needs children in the Los Angeles area. Their organization provided programs and resources for my special needs daughter. Based in Los Angeles, California, it is one of the few organizations that connects parents with resources for their special needs children.
On Saturday October 21st, Special Needs Network will hold their 12th Annual Evening Under the Stars Gala at the California African American Museum. The Special Needs Network will raise awareness about the impact autism has on the under-served communities of Los Angeles. Founder Areva Martin, she has become that special needs virtual support to so many families across the SoCal area. Known to audiences across the country from her regular appearances on The Dr. Phil Show, The Doctors, Anderson Cooper 360, Nancy Grace, Good Morning America and various other daytime talk shows and cable news shows including CNN, MSNBC, HLN and Al Jazeera.
