I'm an on-air cooking and grilling TV personality, a resort business owner and a food blogger. My culinary claims to fame are my gourmet burgers and being an asparagus aficionado. I have been cooking and grilling for over 20 years at our resorts and I grew up with my family being in the farming business. I have even judged the National Asparagus Pageant and I have done several asparagus segments on television in Grand Rapids, Michigan. So when I put those two things together, I have my some great gourmet burgers. My favorites are my "Beer Battered Ham and Cheese Asparagus Rollup Burger and my Defend the Den Burger".
I have been fortunate to have done over 25 live television food segments in the last 2 years (in Michigan, Florida and New York) and I keep getting invited back, so I must be doing something right. I feel very blessed to share my recipes with other home cooks, like myself. I love to inspire others to cook and grill from scratch. I can show others how easy it is to grind your own meat for your burgers, it makes all the difference in the taste and texture of your burger.

I was chosen to represent our Detroit Lions for a Rachael Ray Show - Fantasy Foodball Segment and it featured my "Defend the Den Burger". It has my signature ONION POPPER on it. It's a half jalapeño popper and half onion ring, all delicious!
I'm always trying to inspire people to gather their family recipes before it's too late. Here's my "Meals are Memories" video reminding others to ask friends, family and loved ones about their special recipes so we can preserve them for future generations.
I also cook and grill on the trail everywhere we go. Whether we are out snowmobiling or four-wheeling up in the mountains, I am always trying to get my "Gourmet On". Check out my "Muff Pot Cooking" video up in the mountains near Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
