After you make these easy garlicky cranberry beans in your slow cooker, you might never buy canned beans again.

Garlicky Cranberry Beans in a Slow Cooker

Prep Time: 5 min Cooking Time: 6 hr

Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 5 or 6 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 pound of dried cranberry beans, rinsed
  • Salt
  • 4 cups water

Preparation

  1. Combine everything in a small slow cooker.
  2. Cook on high for 5 to 6 hours. Check the water level as you cook. Add more water if necessary.

Cranberry beans are gorgeous! But you might not find them everywhere... These cranberru beans were purchased from a local farmers market here in NC. Cranberry beans can be substituted for anything that calls for kidney beans or pinto beans. They have a nice, creamy texture that you and your kids are sure to love. Enjoy!
