At around 24 weeks I was told I had a short cervix and was at high risk for pre term labor. At that point I was watched very closely. At 26 weeks I had some isolated bleeding that put me in the hospital for 2 days and a week later my water broke where I ended staying in the hospital and put on antibiotics to try and keep me pregnant for as long as they could I made it to 28 weeks and 4 days. I got an infection that meant it was time. Braylen was born at 2 lbs 8 ozs on April 15th 2017. No one can prepare you for the rollercoaster of feelings from this point forward. We spent 3 weeks in the NICU at Rainbow Babies and children's hospital. Where we worked on gaining weight. Then we finally got approved to go to the step down unit. One step closer to going home. It was 2 and a half weeks later we got to take our little miracle home. That day was May 31st. It was scary and exciting at the same time. I got to take my 35 week old preemie home. But he is now going on 7 months and amazes me everyday.
