I never entirely understood the "holiday stress", in my family it was always about excited anticipation, jolly songs and fun games.

I think it is all about shifting perception. If you think about Christmas as something mandatory and gruesome, for sure it won't be fun! I make sure my kids are involved in picking presents for relatives. I did not want them to believe in Santa Clause, but I rather teach them to be compassionate and learn the joy of giving, not only receiving. They love to prepare homemade presents, and it also keeps them busy and helps me cut on my budget. They also help me in the cooking and decorating, and they have so much fun doing it!

What do you think? This has minimised stress for me and helped truly bring the family together, but some think that not letting my kids believe in Santa Clause is controversial.
