Parents, you’ve got questions, we’ve got answers.

Or just as likely, we’ve got questions and you’ve got answers.

My son was born October 13, 2005. He was born at 24 weeks and weighed in at 1lb 7oz. He spent the better part of 3 months in the NICU at Banner Desert Hospital in Mesa, AZ. We were told that first day that he had only a 30% chance of surviving the night and if we wish, we should have him baptized right away. We went ahead and called the pastor of our church and had him baptized that night. He survived that first night and as the weeks went on became stronger. We went through 2 surgeries and near blindness, but as each obstacle came he beat them. We took him home on January 26, 2006 on oxygen and on an apnea machine. Any movement he made on that machine set it off and it was hard with all the tubing running through the house. I tripped over it numerous times. Today my son RJ is a happy and healthy 12 year old. He defied all odds to be where he is today, being a normal 12 year old boy. He plays baseball, basketball, golf, and swims. He has a few residual effects of being a Premmie, but it hasn't stopped him yet.
