For five days each week, throughout nearly the entire year, we send our children off to school to learn and develop into the future adults that you envision them becoming. We hand over the responsibility of this to their teachers, in the hopes that they will be the best guiding influence in their learning. But, how can we instill in our children the habits that will ensure they'll be getting the most out of their education and making the most of the hours they're spending each day in the classroom? Here are 8 tips that you can use to create good habits in your kids that will boost their productivity in school.

  1. Organization is key
Staying organized with assignments, tests and other activities is the only way to prevent things from getting lost in the shuffle. Having a daily planner to write everything down in is the best way to have your to-do's on hand and accessible at all times. And, each assignment, including research, notes and resources needs to stay organized as well. An online social learning network, such as GoConqr, is the perfect way to create a personalized learning experience, while keeping things organized and on track.

  2. Have a plan
You can't get where you're going without a map; and, in the same way, your child can't get to the future they're envisioning without a plan of how they'll get there. If there's an upcoming assignment, a plan should be created for how it will be completed. For tests, planning ahead can avoid stressful cramming sessions the night before. Filled with flashcards, notes and study guides, StudyBlue is a great resource to tap when you're mapping out a plan.

  3. Test the waters
Help your child ease some of the stress brought on by tests, simply by running through their test-taking strategy. Rather than them trying to rush to cram all the necessary info into their brains at the last minute, a resource like Quizlet will get them ready for test time with premade study sets, flash cards and games – or they can use it to create their own study sets. On test day, it's so important that they arrive early, since rushing there late or with seconds to spare can really make the stress levels skyrocket. And, even though there's almost always a time limit, they've got to understand that they shouldn't try to rush through. They also don't have to answer the questions in the order they're presented – perhaps a good strategy is to answer those questions they're most comfortable with first, to help them feel a little more at ease.
  4. Plan ahead for the big stuff
Big projects can be immense burdens and sources of stress, especially if they're left until the last minute. If your child has planned ahead, getting that big project done on time will be significantly easier. Breaking down one large project into smaller, more easily manageable tasks helps get things done and creating a plan will keep things on track. When things just get too difficult to manage, UK dissertation writing service is a reliable and professional online writing service that can be counted on as a fall-back plan.

  5. Limit electronic distractions
Time are different now for children, and technology seems to have taken over all facets of life. While too much screen time can sometimes negatively impact a child, there are also some benefits to having such great access, including an endless amount of information right at their fingertips. Study Guides and Strategies is one such resource that provides guidance for time management, studying, writing and a number of other topics. It's been around for 16 years and counting, with the intention of empowering learners regardless of age, race, religion or anything else. There are, however, many distractors online, so limiting time spent on these time wasters is important. A well-rounded child tends to be busy with other activities and interests, besides what's happening on social media or television.
  6. Look at what the future holds
Time passes so quickly, so even though college and beyond seems so far away, it'll get here quicker than you know it. Setting goals, and creating a plan on how your child will reach those goals will be a great help in moving them closer to the future they see for themselves. And, throughout the rest of their academic lives, even after they've moved into the work world, the expert team at Do my essay can help keep them on track with writing assistance whenever they need it. Whether it's an academic writing assignment or a job related presentation, their writers ensure that all of their written work is expertly crafted.
  7. Have a routine
Good habits don't just happen, they're created. Developing a routine at home is an important component in establishing good habits that continue beyond the walls of the home. Homework will almost always be assigned on a daily basis, so it's a great place to start. Create a routine where homework gets done at the same time every day, whether that's right after school, when your child is still in 'school mode', or after they've had a little time to unwind and relax. To help with homework, StudyStack offers free access to their library of flashcards created by students and teachers on a wide range of topics. Either use their flashcards or create your own and share them. It's an excellent resource to help make daily homework and studying easier, and to stay on track with the homework routine.
  8. Know what's expected
There's a lot your child is going to have to learn, and knowing what they're expected to learn is just one of those things! They shouldn't be surprised to discover how and what they'll be graded on, and it's important that they are able to ask their teacher any questions about assignments or other work. And, when it comes time to learn those things, in that limited time, Memorize can be a real asset, with their interactive learning modes that make facts easier to learn and remember.

Help your child boost their productivity flow in school by helping them develop great habits. These are traits they'll use throughout their education, but that they'll also carry into other aspects of their lives.
