  • I went to see what the best tasting menu item was at Southern Roots Dining and was pleased to find their Arugula salad for only $11. It's a combination of a few of my favorites, including Belle Chèvre, blueberries, candied pecans, and shaved fennel. It was topped with a black pepper honey vinaigrette and was to die for. Southern Roots has a wide menu variety with something for everyone. They have fresh crab and shrimp from the Gulf and Alabama farm fresh fruits and vegetables. If you’re ever in town, their open table reservation feature is a must-try because it cuts down on the wait time and puts you on the reservation list early. They are open Wednesday through Sunday from 6:00pm to 9:00pm, making them the perfect spot for a nice dinner!
  • If you're with friends looking for a nice evening out, Bayside Grill is perfect for you. They have a large list of shareable appetizers and are well equipped to seat large parties. I ordered their mouth-watering Margherita pizza appetizer for only $11.95 and LOVED it. It's a combination of san marzano, mozzarella, heirloom tomatoes, roasted garlic and basil. If you’re a busybody like me, you can utilize their food pick up feature and save a bit of time! They serve both Lunch & Dinner Monday through Saturday from11:30am to 9:00pm and Sunday from 3:00pm to 9:00pm.

  • On my second day staying at The Grand Hotel, I went to visit the iconic chef Bucky and ordered their famous Chicken Quesadilla. The plate had grilled mojo marinated chicken with guacamole, pico de gallo and cilantro lime crema and was served with their special spiced tortilla chips from Bucky’s Lounge. Restaurant and food service hours are 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm Monday through Thursdays, 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm on Friday and 11:00 am to 10:00 pm on Saturday & Sunday. After restaurant hours, Bucky’s turns into a fantastic lounge. Bar Service hours are Monday through Thursday from 5:00 pm to Midnight, Friday from 4:00 pm to Midnight and Saturday & Sunday from 11:00am to Midnight.

  • Sometimes, you wake up and just want a nice warm slice of toast to start your day. The third day at the Grand Hotel was one of those days, and lucky for me, I found that there were handcrafted breads and freshly baked pastries at The Grand Hall. I enjoyed the view of Mobile Bay while sipping my Grand Gourmet Blend Coffee with my wheat toast. They serve breakfast daily from 7:00 am to 10:30 am, and after tasting it, it’s definitely not something you want to miss.

  • Want to enjoy the open air and feel the bay breeze? Jubilee Poolside Grill is perfect for you and your family. In addition to a beautiful view, they also have food packages and a Kids Corner that your children are sure to enjoy. The menu caters to all types of diets, including vegetarian. A lot of their menu items come from fresh local ingredients and they have a “design your own salad” option. Of course, I tried that out and was certainly not disappointed. Food Service at the Jubilee Poolside Grill is open on Saturdays from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm and Sunday through Friday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. The Jubilee Poolside Grill offers Bar Service on Saturdays from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm and Sunday through Friday from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.

  • If you’re at The Grand Hotel, be sure not to miss The Lakewood Club. I enjoyed their rolled chicken tacos where they combined 3 fried tacos filled with chicken and hatch chilies with chipotle ranch dressing. It goes without saying that any Chili lover will enjoy it! They are open from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm daily.

  • For dinner, I tried the Grand Hotel’s signature “In Room Dining Service” and ordered Shrimp and Grits for only $26. The dish was a combination of conecuh sausage, cheesy grits, plump gulf shrimp and smoked tomato with hot sauce butter. If this makes your mouth water as much as it did mine, browse their “T ap Taste Go app” here and dinner will be delivered to your doorstep. They serve daily breakfast from 6:00 am to 11:00 am and dinner from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
