Tri-tip in the slow cooker will result in melt-in-your-mouth, falling-off-the bone meat. The tri-tip from this recipe can be used is so many different ways. Like in a salad.

Slow Cooker Tri-Tip Salad

  • Yield: 6 servings
  • Prep Time: 5 min
  • Cooking Time: 5 hr

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs tri-tip
  • 4 ounces diced green chilies
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce or coconut aminos
  • ¼ cup orange juice
  • 2 tbsp evoo
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp cumin
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp cayenne
  • 1 tsp liquid smoke (optional)

Preparation

  1. Add tri-tip to the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Add diced green chilies on top.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together remaining ingredients until well blended.
  4. Pour on top of tri-tip.
  5. Cook HIGH 4-5 hours or LOW 8-9.
  6. Remove meat from slow cooker and shred. Serve on top of your favorite salad fixings.
