Sometimes getting kids to eat their veggies can be a challenge! Cutting their veggies into shapes and serving with a homemade ranch dressing is always a hit! Bonus- have your kiddos help tear the herbs so they feel like a part of the cooking process!

Herby Ranch Dressing

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup buttermilk
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 heaping Tablespoon chives
  • 1 heaping Tablespoon parsley
  • 1 Tablespoon white vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Freshly cracked black pepper

Preparation

  1. In a medium bowl add the buttermilk, mayonnaise, and sour cream.
  2. Very finely mince the garlic and add to the bowl, you don't want a large bite of garlic in your dressing!
  3. Finely chop the chives and parsley and add to the bowl.
  4. Add remaining ingredients and whisk together.
  5. Chill for at least a few hours and preferably overnight.

Raw garlic can be spicy for children. If you have time to let the dressing sit overnight raw garlic works great in this recipe. If you don't have time to let the dressing sit, substitute for ⅛ teaspoon garlic powder.
