I am kind, caring and loving.

I am angry, overwhelmed and lost.

I am happy, joyous and full of life.

I am sad, lonely, and sometimes sacred.

I AM A MOTHER.

I am a healer of all wounds, both physical and mental.

I am the one who internalizes their pain whenever they are hurt.

I am the temperature taker, Tylenol giver, and doctor appointment maker.

I am the one who gets sick but keeps going no matter what.

I AM A MOTHER.

I am a person who works hard both inside and outside of the home.

I am the manager of all schedules and the arms they run into each day.

I am someone that juggles daycare, home care and my care (or lack thereof it).

I am a woman in a constant state of proving myself and I often feel like I am failing.

I AM A MOTHER.

I am tired with dark circles under my eyes & wrinkles on my face.

I am a woman who can look like a million bucks one day and a homeless person the next.

I am the one who exercises sometimes or all the time or none of the time.

I am proud of what my body has accomplished, yet I wish I felt more confident in it.

I AM A MOTHER.

I am the chef and caterer to my entire family.

I am the master of the microwave and take-out menu.

I am the one who shops endlessly to keep our fridge and stomachs full.

I am the person who demands vegetables but then eats ice cream after they go to bed.

I AM A MOTHER.

I am the one that keeps clothes on their backs and laundry off the floor.

I am the endless housekeeper & dry cleaner for everyone and everything

I am the clothes police and the target of their anger when it’s too small or too big or too much.

I am the one who actually needs a new wardrobe.

I AM A MOTHER.

I am their forever teacher for anything from kindness to cart wheels.

I am the reader of all books and an actress whenever the story demands it.

I am a mathematician, history expert, social advocate or literary editor.

I am self-conscious in my lack of knowledge and do my best to hide it every day.

I AM A MOTHER.

I am a party planner and the person who makes dreams come true.

I am the holiday enthusiast, birthday calendar keeper, sport events coordinator and weekend organizer.

I am the calming force that rocks them to sleep and soothes their fears & nightmares.

I am the one who wakes up most mornings terrified that I won’t get it all done.

I AM A MOTHER.

I am the accountant and the money manager.

I am the worrier and future planner of everything from dance classes to college.

I am the one who contemplates every decision and wonders if it’s the right one.

I am the person who decided to work or stay home, and I question it every day.

I AM A MOTHER.

I am a woman who worries endlessly about their safety.

I am the person who makes plans for emergencies and vows to protect them no matter what.

I am in fear of them growing older and not being ready for the next phase of their life.

I am constantly praying for their future and the future of the world we live in.

I AM A MOTHER.

I am the taxi driver and therapist simultaneously.

I am the coach off the field and the cheerleader in the stands.

I am the mediator of both fights and silence.

I am the problem solver and can also be the problem maker.

I AM A MOTHER.

I am a human and I make mistakes often.

I am a constant forgiver and distributor of second chances.

I am a friend to many and a keeper of secrets.

I am so much more than what you see before you.

I AM A MOTHER.

I am someone with desires, hopes and dreams that are beyond where I am today.

I am vulnerable and imperfect, but I know I am always loved.

I am blindly and boldly loving like I never knew was possible.

I am one of the luckiest women on earth because….

I AM THEIR MOTHER.
