When this quarantine began, I was beyond frustrated.

My daughter's daycare closed. I had to manage my job working at home while taking care of her and trying to keep her educated and learning. This was on top of my regular chores of cooking, doing the dishes and managing the laundry.

Did I mention that I'm also pregnant?

I felt like I was always on. It was just one task after another with no break. I felt like I was mentally breaking down.

But then I was scrolling on social media and I came across a few threads of posts from moms who had it much worse than me.

Some lost their jobs or had a huge pay cut and were struggling to provide food for their children and pay the bills.

There was one mom in my town who's story really shook me. She's a single mom with a 5 year old.

She's a DJ and her primary source of income is from DJing at weddings, corporate events, and school dances. Spring, summer and early fall are usually when she makes her money for the year. She portions out her income so she has enough to carry her through the winter.

With COVID-19, all of her events have been cancelled and not rebooked. Until a vaccine is released, I can imagine the party industry will not be the same for a while. She won't have a lot of business.

This mom has to deal with the stress of providing for her family. The stress of looking her hungry child in the face and saying she can't give her food today. The stress of paying the bills for housing etc.

And that's just one story. What about the families who are ill from COVID-19?

All of this is making me think about how I really don't have anything to complain about. Things could always be worse. I have a lot to be appreciative for.

To all the moms who are struggling with their current situation - it's perfectly okay to be upset. There could be another mom down the street who's going through tougher times...
