Or just as likely, we’ve got questions and you’ve got answers.

The Unexpected Gift

It’s been a month.
No school.
No suppers out.
No seeing grandparents.
No church.
No play dates.
No wine with friends.
No going places.
So many no’s.
But, so much new.
No sports practice means family dinners even if frozen pizza on the couch.
No go, go, go means time for bike rides and exploring hidden spots.
No hanging out with buddies means making do with your own siblings and discovering you like them more than you thought.
No Easter with grandparents means learning to cook a traditional meal.
No soccer games or track meets mean smashball and long walks.
No alarm clocks mean staying up later and not rushing each morning.
Time, so much more time.
Though we holler and fuss and lament our freedom, I think we will look back and remember the gift of time.
