Parents, you’ve got questions, we’ve got answers.

Or just as likely, we’ve got questions and you’ve got answers.

Well the subject sounds contradictory but it is not. As we approach Father’s day I know the subject of gifts come up. For that dad that has very peculiar taste or simply seems to have everything, the task of finding a gift could be a challenge.

Over the years, I have received wonderful gifts and some not so wonderful. Recently, I realized I did not need any clothes, gadgets, or toys, so I made a request to my kids for a gift that has been a pleaser every year. I simply ask for an experience. I have had tickets with child to a baseball game, lunch at a very special place, and a shopping trip to a vintage record and book store.

Obviously, my children are adults and are able to purchase these experiences and even drive to the locations, but this would be a wonderful expression for a mother to cater for a day. The memories are everlasting, and provides a bond between child and father that never will be broken.

Besides, very few wear ties anymore, socks are nice but it is hot outside. Create a memory that dad will always see and keeps him warm inside, knowing something special was picked just for him.
