When the holidays roll around nearly everyone with a child in their life starts to think about gifts. Many families choose to give kid one gift as part of the holiday experience that will be memorable and played with at least until the next holiday season rolls around.

Deciding what to get as the Big Gift is a big decision. Here are some options that are hot this season.

American Girl: There really is something special about American Girl that kids can’t get enough of. They are adorable, substantial, and many come with intricate back stories, outfits, and accessories. This year, American Girl is offering customizable Gift Trunks with a doll, book, play packs, first year “wellness visit” the Doll Hospital and more. Does your child already have a favorite doll? Let her explore the doll’s story with an accessory like Blaire’s Farm Family Restaurant that comes with ton of accessories.

Frozen Rocker: Frozen is >em class="gl" this holiday season thanks to the release of Frozen 2. The new movie has a lot more adventure — and more Sven. This Sven rocker would look idyllic under the tree and provide years of fun and imaginative play.<>

Ride-On Toy: Kids dream of being able to drive on their own. Fortunately, they don’t have to wait until they are 16 to sit behind the wheel with sweet wheels like this kid-sized Vespa Princess Scooter or Paw Patrol’s Rubble Digger.

A Life-Like Pet: Originally designed to provide companionship for the elderly, a very life-like Joy for All cat or dog that responds to touch makes a great gift for kids who desperately want a pet but are met with resistance from Mom and Dad.

Jewelry: Treat your child to a piece of jewelry made just for them. Tiary makes beautiful pieces to order so you can customize a necklace with their name or favorite gemstone. This gift will become a keepsake that your child can use as they grow.

Hot Wheels: Hot Wheels are small, but the Hot Wheels Ultimate Garage Playset comes with not just some tiny cars but a big garage filled with twists and turns and ramps. Cars can even race one another down the many “roads” and any Hot Wheels car can be used with the garage. If that’s a little too big for your space, try the Monster Trucks Downhill Race & Go set that is still pretty big at over four feet but folds up for storage — in the shape of a Monster Truck of course!

Horses: Did someone way horses? Check out this deluxe Horse Stable and House from Schleich. The playset is incredibly detailed and come with figures and horses to ensure hours of play.

Fitbit for Kids: The Ace 2 is a Fitbit made just for kids. It has an adjustable band made for kid-size wrists but with room to grow. For under $50.00, it just might wind up being the most-used gift of the year since kids can wear it everyday (even in the snow and the pool) and it can be used to tell time, install good fitness habits, to set an alarm, and more.

Star Command Spaceship: Every Toy Story fan dreams of traveling to Infinity and Beyond. This Toy Story Star Command Spaceship comes complete with a Buzz Lightyear figure. The set also includes a Space Exploring Rover, detachable Rocket Pod, and light-up cockpit. Your child will be >em class="gl" thrilled to unwrap this gift.<>

Big Bow Surprise: This golden egg is >em class="gl">big. The Zuru Rainbow Big Bow Surprise has to be big to fit the over 25 surprises inside. Surprises could include a giant sequin heart, a Unicorn plush rainbow, a bracelet and more. A gift that is full of other gifts is sure to be a hit and will make a big impact when it comes time to open gifts. It could also make a good gift for siblings to share.

LOL! Surprise 2-in-1 Fashion Glamper: This Glamper makes a big statement. Filled with over 55 surprises and includes an exclusive doll. The Glamper’s front detaches to become a car and the Glamper fully extends to 2 feet by 3 feet of fully furnished, 360 degrees play, with working lights and sounds then folds up again for storage or travel.

Playmobil Space Station: This Mars Space Station comes complete with a working laser, two astronauts, an alien, and plenty of “real” accessories. This set will be a huge hit with any child interested in planets or exploring. For kids who prefer to stay earth side, set your child on fire with the Playmobil Fire Station with a control center, helicopter, pole, and working alarm.

Marvel Legends: The Marvel Legends figures are bigger, sturdier, and most importantly more accurate representations of your favorite superheroes than smaller versions. These figures are great for kids to play with or for collectors who use them to display.

Nerf Ultra Blaster One: This Nerf Ultra Blaster isn’t just big, it’s powerful. Thanks to the integrated motor, darts come fast and can blast up to 120 feet — and with more accuracy that other Nerf blasters.

BeyBlade Complete Set: This BeyBlade Burst Sling Shock set comes complete with a stadium and spinners. Players can even keep track of their score with an app. This is a great starter set or addition to a collection for BeyBlade fans who want a more exciting stadium with rail riding capabilities.

Legos: Legos are a hit with kids of all ages for good reason. They have themes and various levels of building complexity for all ages. Plus, few toys are as versatile since they can be assembled according to the instructions and kept that way, taken apart and rebuilt differently, or be used completely according to your child’s imagination. Popular themes include Lego Friends, Lego City, and Ninjago, which come with spinners for more creativity. For many families, building a Lego set Christmas morning has become a beloved tradition.

Playtime+ Pad: Even if you are wary of sceentime, this Playtime+ Pad from PBS would make a great show-stopping gift because it’s filled with PBS-kids approved content, including shows, games, and apps. It’s a great way to introduce kids to responsible sceentime and to make sure that they have access to their favorite shows, even on the go.
