Parents, you’ve got questions, we’ve got answers.

Or just as likely, we’ve got questions and you’ve got answers.

I am a planner. I make spreadsheets and timelines of everthing possible. For example, my wedding timeline was so clearly defined that immediatly after I e-mailed it out our groomsman responded with, "At what time are we allowed to start having fun?"

Parenthood changes you. Our little Jake is just two months old. I am often asked, "How many hours is he sleeping in a row?" The answer is easy - I really have no idea.

I'm breastfeeding on-demand, so at our feeding around 8 or 9, I let Jake fall asleep on my chest. My husband takes over at that point to watch over in case I need some shut-eye. Sometimes he takes pictures of us when we "look alike."

When Dad is ready for bed, he wakes me up, and we move upstairs to bed and put Jake in his bassinet next to our bed. If Jake wakes up, Dad checks his diaper and comforts him. If Jake is hungry, Dad wakes me up.

We tag-team the cries throughout the night like this. No schedule, no plan, no expectations. For the first time in my life, I am on someone else's time, and I'm loving it!
