Noah Szlachetka of Lyman High School in Longwood, Florida has been working for 6 years toward THIS 2020 school year, a pivotal one for him, his senior year. Volleyball hasn't just been a hobby, it has been a way of life for Noah. Where some kids play only during the season, Noah played year round. In middle school, Noah could be seen skate boarding around the neighborhood with his volleyball net over his shoulder and a ball in hand trying to drum up enough kids to start a game.

Playing beach and club volleyball expanded Noah's friend basis outside of just his school to where he has friends all over the district which makes the friendly comradery during game time even more enjoyable.

Needing his volunteer hours in for graduation, Noah learned the best way to do so was to help the youth and so he volunteered at the local middle school as the JV volleyball coach and earned over 400 volunteer hours helping mold these future players while doing something he absolutely loved.

Noah was given the role of Captain this season by being a proven leader to his team through his years of playing and by keeping his attitude strong and remembering to enjoy every single moment because one day it will be over. Noah had no idea his season would end abruptly due to COVID.

Disappointment has been the word we have used at the loss of the season. Time with friends on the court has vanished due to quarantine. Countless hours of practices along with injuries, frustration and joy have all been part of this game for him. Sadly, this story has no final chapter, no "the end". The class of 2020 will forever be remembered at the Covid Class whose story was left unwritten.
