Hello all. I am Tara a married, stay at home of three daughters. I have been a stay at home mom for the last ten years. As my children are getting older now 21, 14 and 8. I have begun to wonder if there is a possibility for a phase 2 so to speak in my near future. Returning to and finishing college. It has always haunted me and I have always thought about one day finishing. Holding on to my college folder, all these years.I have not lived by the rule book at all. Having my major life moments all backwards and in no planned order. Definitely not societies order.I had my first daughter at 21, was married at 23. Divorced by the age of 25 and then I decided to begin college. Even then I was not a typical college student. There were times I had to take my daughter with me to class, so I would not have to miss. I was proud of the grades I was receiving. Enrolling and becoming a college student was a big deal for me. I did not take high school very serious. Forcing me to take prerequisites. I pushed through and eventually transferred my credits from the community college to our local four year university. Since that time frame I went from single mom of one to single mom of two. Here I am now. A traditional, suburban, married mom of three.Very involved, hands on.The role of stay at home mom fits our family situation.I have often said my children are my 401k. The role of mom has always been my dream. I secretly have another dream..... I want to go back to school.I have a lot of anxiety, I am terrified. I will be attending with students my oldest daughters age. Is this the right time? I attempted last fall and missed a financial aid deadline. I hope to get it together and enroll for the fall semester. This will be stressful just to get all I need in order. Self guessing myself. Will I be able to keep up, did I forget how to study? My husband will have to step in more. He is completely supportive. I will be 43 in May. Taking almost twenty years for a four year degree. Let that sink in for a minute.I began college for the first time in the year 2000. Life happens. This will be an amazing journey, and life experience. It is supposed to be for me. I am optimistic though as to what this could show my girls. Hoping there is a positive impact on all of us.Showing my daughters a huge life lesson. My phase 2.
