5 years ago my husband I have suffered a devastating loss. We lost twin boys. My body went into labor at 22 1/2 weeks pregnant. Devastated and hopeless to try again, we did; and at 6 weeks I found out I was pregnant with quadruplets. Over the moon joyed and terrified I was ready for the challenge. However, many medical professionals felt opposite. They encouraged me to reduce the pregnancy in fear I would not be able to deliver healthy babies. Leaning on our faith we said no, and at 32 weeks I deliver 2 boys and 2 girls. Due to their early delivery they were in the NICU for 4 weeks. Being a NICU parent is challenging every day you take 2 steps forward to take 2 steps back. Watching them struggle to gain weight, not being able to hold them 24/7 and hearing their monitors beep due to falling oxygen levels was beyond heart breaking for a first time mother. Their is one thing to be true with have babies in the NICU is the medical staff, they are unbelievable and supportive. They are the true reason I stayed sane during this crazy time. I am so proud to say I have 4 beautifully healthy 4 year olds. It was a crazy journey from the begin, but we are loving every minute.
