My afternoon walks have changed during the quarantine.

I don’t walk for more than 30 seconds without having a fellow walker, runner, or biker pass by. We almost always exchange greetings.

I am entertained every few feet with a message written in sidewalk chalk.

My heart swells when I read the sweet thank you notes taped in house windows.

I enjoy seeing all the mailbox hearts and knowing kids continue to enjoy scavenger hunts.

I don’t wear headphones because I walk to the beat of laughter from backyards.

I smell the aroma of backyard grills.

I adore the graduation signs and teacher appreciation signs that are displayed proudly.

The flowers lining the streets have never looked healthier and more cared for.

My afternoon walks have changed in the very best ways.
