Parents, you’ve got questions, we’ve got answers.

Or just as likely, we’ve got questions and you’ve got answers.

1 day late...oops, but that's the life of twin parents! Sometimes I don't even know what day it is! Yesterday (the 20th) we celebrated the twins "corrected age" a term only premie familes know all too well!

We found out we were pregnant back in April 2016, we were scared to know there was two in there, it was hard for us to swallow, fast forward to July, we were in our routine ultrasound so find out the sex, it was Girls! Yikes, god does have a sense of humor, because if you knew my fiancé, you'd understand.

After the ultrasound was done, two doctors came in and told us to go over to triage, it looks like you may be dilating, my heart dropped, and I immediately knew this was out of my hands, I was only 20 weeks pregnant.

We were kept overnight and by the next morning I was dilated two more inches, 3cm. After many many tears and the reality of we may leave this hospital miscarrying two babies, we felt so hopeless, two hours later, the doctor came to the room, she gave us the choice, either wait it out but couldn't promise us good news, or have the cercqlage surgery, we decided to do the surgery, with little research that it is successful with twins, we had no other choice. The surgery went well and we were discharged the next day. For the next 8 weeks, every movement I felt in my belly I thought I was going into labor, I was scared of the unknown, just praying I'd make it to a viable stage.

28 weeks and 5 days, it was time, and they came fast, once they removed the stitch from my cervix, the girls came in about two hours, c-section! And 5 hours later we were able to see our girls. With wires and tubes, safe in their incubators, i didn't get to hold my girls until three days after they were born, it was an emotional roller coaster, from septic shock to have a reaction to vaccines, the stress was hard to manage! The doctor and nurses were amazing. They become your family, esp. being in the hopspital for over 80 days! Finally a year ago on Nov 16th we were able to take Scarlette faith home and 11 days later abbey grace was finally home! It was the hardest journey I've ever been though, but I've learned so much about this life! And I'm

Forever grateful for the journey!

Love Julie and Duncan, abbey and Scarlette
