My mother taught me several things, but the most important and impactful was that there are consequences. Every choice and every action has a consequence. Some are good and some are bad. If you chose the right action, a good consequence follows. And, if you chose wrong or do something stupid, a negative consequence follows. My mother taught me and my sister that we were our own person capable of making our own decisions, but just to remember the consequences that will follow those decisions. I am the person I am today because of that lesson.
