Parents, you’ve got questions, we’ve got answers.

Or just as likely, we’ve got questions and you’ve got answers.

Neurotic, germophobe, OCD, paranoid, new mom. These are words I'm tired of!

I'm tired of hearing I'm crazy, crazy because I want people to wash their hands before they touch my baby boy. Tired of hearing I'm a germophobe because I don't want strangers touching my son. My son who my husband and I prayed for, the baby I cried for, when it took a year and a half of trying to have. A pregnancy that didn't take, a million negative signs on a sticks and even a round of medication and no explanation for why it wasn't happening for us. Follow that with 10 months of hyperemesis gravidarum and having to revolve my life around a medication schedule just to stay out of the hospital and keep food down so my baby would get nutrients, I am tired. I am tired of hearing you're paranoid, you have OCD or people laughing in my face when I ask them to wash their hands or use sanitizer.

There are so many things we can't control, protecting my son from people's basic germs on their hands is something I can control.

The worst is you are a new mom. NO, I am a Mom period! I am a mom who all I ever knew I wanted to do with my life was be a mom. Call me simple, call me crazy, but my dream came true when I saw that heartbeat on the monitor, when I felt those flutters and first kicks and punches and hiccups, when I pushed for 3 hours and heard that first cry, when I was first peed on or puked on or had baby food flung at me, my dream came true!

So just wash your damn hands and get over it, I'm just a mom!
