"This is the fun part, right?" declared my almost-four-year-old as we cozied in her bed last night.

It was more of a statement than a question.

She was talking about our pre-night-night snuggle sesh and boy, was she right.

That is the fun part -- to get to lie next to someone you love, laughing, smiling, and being affectionate.

But, it got me thinking...

maybe it's all "the fun part."

Perhaps, we're all making this living and parenthood thing a bit more complicated than we should, and dare I even suggest that we are taking all of it a bit too seriously.

Loving our kids well and raising them right is serious buisness. Don't get me wrong.

But what if making that living and loving fun is just as important?

As a Type-A, control-freak, anxious nut of a person, parenthood has done a number on me with its fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants nature.

However, when I consciously choose to accept the days' challenges, and both my big and little people as they come, finding humor and a lesson in it all, we're all more joyful

Here's me putting out into the universe my pronouncement that my intention for 2020 is to remember that it's all the fun part if I allow it to be.
