It’s interesting that once Crazy Rich Asians the movie came out the words representation, inclusion have become prominent. I feel we all strive to be included in some facet of life. I also feel we love when others can see us for who we are, have similar situations, or similar background.

We must also celebrate differences. Enjoy what we can learn from each other and be open to different perspectives, foods, fundamental thoughts. We also know that we can find a common thread and can work together on the same purpose.

My children’s book aims at all of the themes. It is funny, that just as the Asian kids that posted the picture of themselves at McDonald’s, I just wanted kids to find themselves represented in a book. Show them to respect who they are, not shy away from their background, but also know that others are like them.
