Parents, you’ve got questions, we’ve got answers.

Or just as likely, we’ve got questions and you’ve got answers.

I’ll teach you to love 2020

This year started normal
Filled with laughter and joy
But March changed it all
Let me tell you sweet boy

Simple things we took for granted
Suddenly were no more
Hugs and human contact
Freedom to explore

A global pandemic
Changed all the rules
Masks at all times
Abrupt shift to homeschool

No leaving the house
No see or be seen
A new normal upon us
It was called quarantine

But you my sweet boy
Had a year full of good
And I’ll protect that perspective
As any mother would

You didn’t pay attention
To negativity or hate
You never lost your joy
And your year turned out great

You started kindergarten
And learned to ride a bike
When the world seemed so dark
You provided a light

You learned to do math
And started to read
You played with your brothers
So wild and free

You ate all the snacks
You learned to swim
You got to go to bed later
And often sleep in

Both working parents
Were home so much more
Which meant quality time for you
More than ever before

Your memories of this year
Don’t have to be sad
2020 came and went
And it’s the best year you’ve had

I’ll teach you to love 2020
Because you my sweet boy
Deserve only happy memories
And for you I choose joy

Love & Hugs,
Nicki, Momming all the Boys
