I love this picture of him and me.
So much so that I actually had it printed,
which is like something nobody does these days.
I love this picture of him and me, but honestly, neither of us looks great in it.
It's not the most flattering capture if either of us, but what it does capture,
ever so perfectly,
and so honestly,
is the love we have for each other.
The authentic friendship between the two of us.
The jokester that he is and the annoying (endearing?) stage five-clinger that I am.
I love this picture of him and me,
and though it's highly imperfect,
like the both of us,
and it highlights both of our imperfections
(like my giant nose and his….nope, not gonna do it)
I still love this picture of him and me because I love our love,
and I love that when it's not pissing me off,
it's making me
laugh and smile.
And it's got me thanking God that it is mine and that he is mine.
We're not Brady and Giselle, clearly.
We're not Ryan Reynolds and his queen Blake Lively.
We're more like Homer and Marge,
Fred and Wilma
and Dan and Rosanne.
I love this picture of him and me
because I love him,
and after 36 years of working really hard on it,
I love me too, A LOT,
and I just feel like this image of the two of us is a portrait of two really cool, hardworking people on the heels of 14 years of marriage.
I love this picture of him and me, have I said that?
