Some parents are not familiar with things that are important for their child’s teeth so they wait too much to care like going to the dentist clinic. Parents need to be familiar with things like taking your children to dentist for their teeth as it needs to be happens as soon as their baby is born. The parents should know that as soon as their new born baby begins drinking milk, bacteria and other gums enter in baby’s mouth but some parents wait until first teeth come in and then they implement some oral hygiene routine. Almost all parents tried to make their first appointment with dentist within six month of birth.

Doctors also recommend six monthly visits of the baby to make babies familiar with doctors and staff of the clinic. Dentist also recommends this because this will provide them a friendly environment to make a treatment of babies.

Good Oral Care Habits:

Doctors encourage good oral care habits from the parents along with twice visit in a year to the dentist, which will make it easier for babies and doctors to enjoy caring their teeth from gums.

We have some ideas for parents to make dental care habit as a fun in their children:

Give Reward to Children For Their Good Behavior

Children between the age of 3 to 6 love being rewarded with toffees or cookies due to well adopted behavior. So you can reward your children for brushing his/her teeth for two minutes daily or also can be rewarded on dental visit. This will surely help parents in making a good habit in their children. You can make it more interesting for kids by further categorizing rewards as you know which reward will attract your child’s attention i.e. candy, soft drinks or junk food.

Play Their Favorite Music:

Children under the age of six have short attention span and will likely to get bored in front of the sink or while brushing their teeth for minimum of two minutes. Instead of giving them strict instructions, choose one of the favorite music of your kid’s choice for two minutes and try to play it while your kid is brushing his/her teeth.

Reward Your Children With A Fun Activity

Many children are fearful of going to doctor’s clinic especially when their parents do not make habit for visiting the dentist at a young age. Some of the doctors will reward their young and cute patients with some goodies after visiting their clinic. You can add on to this reward by rewarding your kid with a funny activity which he likes the most i.e. playing games, going to a place they love.

Try To Do It Together With Your Kid:

This activity of brushing teeth is more likely and enjoyable for your kid as they see that it is also very important for their parents too. By doing an activity together, your children will feel happier to doing an activity that their parents do.
