Before the birth of my first son, i never realized how difficult it would be for my body to heal. Everyone kept telling me to rest when you could, and to take it easy. I didnt do that. My 8lb 4oz chunk boy was rough on my body, after the 3 day hospital stay i could still barely walk or move, but we were home and it was time for me to be super mom. He awoke every 2 hours to eat, so sleep and rest was out of the question. When he slept during the day i had to rush to get done what needed done at home, dishes, laundry, changing out on my pjs for the day, cleaning bottles, stocking diapers and so on...it ended up taking me a little over 3 weeks until my body started to feel somewhat normal. So for anyone who suggests you sleep and rest when the baby rests, go for it. The dishes and laundry can wait for another day. Enjoy the day ahead of you with your precious new bundle of joy. Its the little things in life that you remember the most about the first days home
