Parents, you’ve got questions, we’ve got answers.

Or just as likely, we’ve got questions and you’ve got answers.

Hey mama.
Yes, I’m talking to you.
Real question.
Have you laughed lately?

And no. I’m not talking the kind of light awkward chuckle that’s forced in social interactions.

I’m talking real, can’t catch your breath, work your stomach muscles harder than you have since 8th grade sports conditioning… that type of laughter. The kind you belt out with such force the neighbors wonder what in the hyena-elephant noise is happening next door.

I know you know what I’m talking about.
And my gut tells me you don’t do it nearly enough.
You don’t allow yourself to let loose.

I’m here to give you a harsh reality check.
You need to laugh more.
No. Even truer… you DESERVE to laugh more.

You work so hard.
Everything you do is for others.
You take care of a tiny army of humans 24 hours a day.
You make sure everyone is where they need to be doing what they need to do with who they need to be with.

You operate like a well-oiled machine.
And girl… even well-oiled machines need a break sometimes.

You deserve to completely, 100%, whole-heartedly let go of all the stress, all the responsibilities, all the anxiety, all the worry, all the to-do’s, all the you-name-its. Just let them go.

You deserve to LAUGH.
Your laugh is contagious… I promise you.

I know your girlfriends who used to laugh with you seem a million miles away right now. I know life seems overwhelming. Don’t let that stop you. Your little people want to feel you letting go. They want to see you experience life the way you used to with that lighthearted, unfiltered joy.

Laugh with them.
Let everything else go. Just for a few seconds.
I promise you won’t regret it.
And neither will anyone else.

We all need a gentle reminder.
Laugh more, mama.
You deserve to laugh.

Love & Hugs,
Nicki, Momming all the Boys
