The early bird doesn’t always get the worm.
And always late Larry isn’t lazy at all.
Every day I find myself comparing myself to those I know, those around me, and those I see.
And maybe you do too.
Perhaps, like me, you question if the “right” way to live, is how everyone else is doing it.
I’m here to tell you NO. Just NO.
You don’t have to wake up at 5am every morning and get in a workout or a yoga sesh.
You don’t have to have crossed ten things off your to-do-list by 8am to be a motivated human.
You don’t have to eat a home cooked, healthy breakfast to be a healthy being.
You don’t have to be the best, brightest, richest or prettiest in the room.
And you don’t have to be in any room, place of employment or social circle you don’t wanna be in.
You CAN go against the grain.
You CAN be the black-legging wearing sheep in a sea of Lilly Pulitzer-inspired magical unicorns.
You CAN sleep in sometimes.
You CAN stay in your pjs all day.
You CAN get things done piecemeal and in stages.
You CAN vary in your level of enthusiasm.
You CAN roll into the McDonalds drive thru every once in a while.
gain a little weight,
stay out a little late,
and not always operate in a “perfection” state.
This is your life. Don’t spend another minute of it wasting time on whether others would approve of how you’re doing it and just remember that this is your freakin’ journey and you only get one.
Give yourself grace,
give yourself the freedom of choices,
and then give yourself a pat on the back because you’re getting YOU right, and that’s all that matters.
