Get Back on the Bike.

My daughter tried a new bike route the other day. There was an awkward turn along the new route and her bike tipped. I anticipated her having a little bit of trouble with it so fortunately I was there to catch her. She was upset and scared at first, but I encouraged her to keep going. I reminded her that if she continued practicing, she would be able to do that turn in no time.

How many times have we been caught off guard by something or someone trying to knock us down and we dwell in it? How many times have we given up when something has scared us or when we feel that we have failed? We allow it to have enough power that we never even give it another try.

So, get on the bike. Do the thing. Don’t let fear and novice keep you from striving for more. And as for my daughter... she is back on the bike, navigating the new route like a pro.
