Most people don’t date consciously. They don’t make an effort to search for lasting and loving relationships that everyone dreams of having. When you date with a purpose you’re more likely to find your soul mate with which you could spend eternity together. However, doing this isn’t easy and will take a lot of effort. You will need to know yourself well and know the qualities you possess, as well as the qualities your ideal partner should have. Instead of leaving relationships up to chance, here’s how you can start dating with a purpose.

Get to Know Yourself Better

If you are serious about finding true love, then you will first need to go on a journey of self-discovery. The only way to figure out what type of person you’re compatible with is to know everything about yourself. If you don’t do this, you are more likely to end up in a failed relationship or marriage. Not having high sense self-awareness and not being honest with yourself may lead you to think that you know what you want even if you don’t have a clue about what you actually want and need in a relationship.

If you know exactly who you are and how to be honest with yourself, the option of using a matchmaker is automatically on the table. Professional matchmaking can be a great way to find a life companion. The way it works is that you meet with a matchmaker and answer a lot of hard and personal questions. Then the matchmaker contacts you when they’ve found a person who may be a great match for you.

“The reason why matchmaking works is because you get a chance to meet people who share the same beliefs, interests, values, and life goals as you,” note the expert matchmakers at Kelleher International. By using matchmakers, you will increase the chance of better dates and finding true love.

Let Go of the Past

No matter what type of love life you have led up to this point, you should simply let go of it. Not being able to move on from past relationships will prevent you from making room for new love. Of course, not everyone will be able to do this easily. Suffering a bad breakup with a person you thought you would spend the rest of your life with can be quite heartbreaking. Nevertheless, there is always a way to move on. If you can’t do this yourself, you should try working with a therapist on learning how to let go of the past.

Apply the Law of Attraction

Now that you’ve learned how to let go of the past and what qualities your ideal partner should have, it’s time to apply the law of attraction. In case you’re unfamiliar with this concept, it basically means that you attract what you are. So, in order to find a partner that has your preferred set of qualities, you’ll need to start showing those same qualities as well. This may sound like it’s easy to do, but for most people it can be quite a challenge. This is because you will first need to develop a positive attitude towards love.

Afterwards, you’ll need to learn to love yourself. If you don’t, others will be encouraged to view you in a negative light. The only way to know how to truly offer love to someone else is if you first find a way to love yourself. Although this may sound like a cliché, it’s actually one of the most important steps of dating with a purpose.

Stay Positive

Finding someone who you could spend the rest of your life with can be incredibly hard. Even when it seems like things aren’t going the way they should, you’ll need to stay positive. It might be even good to take a short break from dating if you want to. Just make sure you don’t lose hope, because you’ll surely find the one when you’re dating with purpose.
