Today is my husband and I’s 14th wedding anniversary.
To celebrate, we picked up our oldest from summer sleepaway camp and drove her and her two younger siblings nine hours back home.
Would a date night have been nice? I guess.
A just the two of us getaway? Sure.
But ain’t nothing beats spending a day meant for celebrating our love, than spending it in close, tightly-packed quarters with those who were (literally) born from our love and are soul-bearing proof of it,
and I’m serious about that.
Parenting ain’t for the faint of heart.
Neither is marriage.
And maybe that’s why as much as they interfere with one another,
they compliment each other too.
‘Cause I’ll I tell you this…
Ain’t nothing looks more attractive on my man than the love he has for our kids and the lengths (and miles) he’ll go to keep us all
safe and happy,
and to bring us to,
and ground us in,
HOME.
