To get my little one to sleep longer at night, I added an evening nap. Sounds like it would be counter productive right? It actually worked. After adding the later nap, I found that my little one slept longer, possibly because he wasn't fighting sleep or due to being over tired after my attempts to have him go longer stretches without a nap. Here is what our sleep schedule looks like:
daytime nap: Little one goes down at 1pm and sleeps until 3pm or 4pm. During this nap I let him decide when to wake up.
evening nap: Little one goes down at 6pm and I wake him around 7:40pm.
bedtime: Little one is in his crib by 8:50pm and will sleep through the night and wake between 9:30am and 10am.
Mommy gets a full nights rest as well!
