One of my "ah ha!" moments of motherhood was a few days after returning home. I had the Moby Wrap, I had the bassinet and crib and pack 'n play. But after holding the baby and nursing her and carrying her all day I realized sometimes you have to put the baby down. But besides the bed-like options I didn't have any place to put her. I didn't have a swing or a bouncer. Those items seemed superfluous on our registry of "necessities." Never have I been so thankful for Target and the array of options available in the baby recline and relaxation section. We bought a swing and a bouncer. Both of these items were a saving grace for bath time (mine!), when she was fussy in the wee hours of the morning, when I was cooking dinner. And when baby #2 came along they served as a safe place for big sister to "play" with little sister.
