I wish I would have known that being a good parent isn't about breastfeeding, using cloth versus disposable diapers, or giving your children organic foods grown out of a backyard garden. Being a good parent ​is about patience, love, compassion, and setting a good example. I realize all these things now, but when I was pregnant with my first child and nervous about all of the unknowns, it was easy to get bogged down by things that don't truly matter.
