at 33 week i went in and to see the nurse practitioner, the last of the three doctors appointments that I had had that week. She explained that i need to talk to the doc. However he would not be available tell afternoon. I go back in the afternoon and am told to go to the hospital for the lung steroid shot... i plead just let me come back tomorrow at this point its 530 my original dr appt. Was at 10 and i have to go whait at the hospital now i was exhausted... 730 i am finally on my way home knowing that in 2 days i would meet my girls.

The day of went well even with the hartburn and freezing Hospital. I remember not expecting to hear them cry but first out (my smallest) came out yelling... probably from the cold. 2min later the second not so loud.. i give them both a kiss and thay leave with their dad. When i make it back to my room i am told both girls are doing well one on a little oxygen... but that would prove to last only a few hours. Born at 33 weeks 3 day naomi 2.13 and 15in leeann 3.6 and 15 1/2in feeding tubes for about a week, wormer for close to 3, open bed for a week for one and afew days for the other and then.... the day came thay could come home all the traveling back and forth after their dad got home for work to tuck them in for bed... the not being able to say good morning and not knowing what thay were up to was over we brought our tiny babys home. I never thought i would have NICU baby ( i gess no one does) but after have a ruff first baby the NICU was the best thing that could have happened. We kept the nicu schedule and had the best babies, slept through the night by 3 months and put themselves to sleep on time now that their 2. Im glad that i was able to experience having nicu babies and the emotions of having to leave your baby at the hospital, luckily i did not have to worries much about it being the last time i saw them... and im sure my experience would have been much different with for more time spent in the nicu had we incountered such obstacles and my hart goes out to those who have and whom have yet to. I was able to bring home both my healthy babies a month after thay where born on the same day and for that i am blessed.... good luck to all the babies and their supporters
